Golden Rum Cake

Ingredients

Cake

  • Chopped Walnuts or Pecans
    1cup
  • Yellow Cake Mix(18.25oz)
    1package
  • Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix(3.4oz)
    1package
  • Eggs
    4
  • Water
    1/2cup
  • Vegetable Oil
    1/2cup
  • Dark Rum
    1/2cup

Glaze

  • Butter
    1/2cup
  • Water
    1/4cup
  • White Sugar
    1cup
  • Dark Rum
    1/2cup

A moist cake made with yellow cake mix, pudding, and a dark rum glaze.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Grease and flour a 10 inch Bundt pan.
  3. Sprinkle chopped nuts evenly over the bottom of the pan.
  4. In a large bowl, combine cake mix and pudding mix.
  5. Mix in rest of the cake ingredients. Blend well.
  6. Pour batter over chopped nuts in the pan.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake sit for 10 minutes in the pan, then turn out onto a serving platter.
  9. Glaze: In a saucepan, combine butter, water and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat and continue to boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in rum.
  10. Pour half the glaze into the Bundt pan, reinsert cake, then pour the rest of glaze over the bottom of the cake.
  11. Let absorb well then invert back onto platter.
