  • Lean Ground Beef
    1lb
  • Red Kidney Beans
    3cans
  • Onion
    1medium
  • Whole Peeled Tomatoes
    1can
  • Chili Powder
    2tbsp
  • Red Pepper Flakes
    1tbsp
  • Vegetable Oil
    1/4cup
  • Water
    1cup
  • Salt & Pepper(to taste)

A classic chili using both whole and processed kidney beans for texture.

Instructions

  1. Chop up onion.
  2. Saute in oil in a deep pot for about 2 minutes.
  3. Add meat and brown until no longer pink.
  4. Add salt, pepper, red pepper and chili powder.
  5. Rinse 2 cans of beans and add to pot.
  6. Rinse 3rd can and put through a food processor and add to pot.
  7. Add tomatoes with juice.
  8. Add water.
  9. Bring to a boil, stirring often, and boil until it becomes thick.
