English Butter Toffee

  • Granulated Sugar
    1cup
  • Real Butter(No substitutes)
    2sticks
  • Water
    1/4cup
  • Salt
    1dash
  • Vanilla
    1/2tsp
  • Milk Chocolate Chips
    4oz
  • Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
    4oz
  • Chopped Nuts
    1/2cup

Crunchy homemade toffee topped with chocolate and nuts.

Instructions

  1. Butter a large cookie sheet. Set cookie sheet aside.
  2. In a medium nonstick saucepan melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Stir in sugar, water and salt.
  4. Bring mixture to a boil stirring constantly.
  5. Cook mixture until the temperature reaches 305 degrees on a candy thermometer.
  6. Remove pan from heat. Stir in vanilla.
  7. Pour mixture onto cookie sheet and spread out as much as possible. Let Cool.
  8. Melt chocolate chips. Spread evenly over top of cooled toffee.
  9. Sprinkle with nuts.
  10. Break into pieces to serve.
