Red Velvet Cake Frosting

  • Milk
    1cup
  • All Purpose Flour
    2tbsp
  • Sugar
    1cup
  • Real Softened Butter(no substitutes)
    1cup
  • Vanilla
    1tsp

Traditional cooked flour frosting (Ermine frosting) for Red Velvet Cake.

Instructions

  1. In a medium non stick saucepan over medium heat combine milk and flour. Mix well.
  2. Cook stirring constantly until thick and very creamy.
  3. Remove from heat. Cool completely.
  4. In a large glass bowl whip softened butter until very light and fluffy.
  5. Add sugar and vanilla. Mix well.
  6. Add cooled flour and milk mixture.
  7. Beat on medium speed until thick enough to spread.
  8. This frosting should be light and very fluffy and taste like real whipped cream.
