Traditional cooked flour frosting (Ermine frosting) for Red Velvet Cake.
Instructions
- In a medium non stick saucepan over medium heat combine milk and flour. Mix well.
- Cook stirring constantly until thick and very creamy.
- Remove from heat. Cool completely.
- In a large glass bowl whip softened butter until very light and fluffy.
- Add sugar and vanilla. Mix well.
- Add cooled flour and milk mixture.
- Beat on medium speed until thick enough to spread.
- This frosting should be light and very fluffy and taste like real whipped cream.
